Work to install a cofferdam is being conducted until 28 February 2024.
According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.109 of 2023, the work is being carried out between 0800 and 2000 hours daily - including Sundays and Public Holidays - off West Jurong Channel, within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):
1 1° 17.997'N 103° 49.456'E
2 1° 17.983'N 103° 49.456'E
3 1° 17.983'N 103° 49.418'E
4 1° 17.996'N 103° 41.481'E
The works involve removal of rocks, excavation, installation of concrete cofferdam, backfilling, and reinstatement by long armed excavators.
When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 22 (Jurong Control);
and
e) Communicate with Jurong Control on Channel 22 for assistance, if required.
