Traffic re-suspended

Southbound vessel traffic in the Dardanelles was re-suspended at 04:15 hours this morning (19 June), with planned resumption at 15:00, due to continuing efforts to extinguish a forest fire at Canakkale, including firefighting aircrafts scooping water from the sea.

Traffic in the strait had initially been suspended at 16:20 hours yesterday, but resumed in both directions in the strait at 21:30 hours.

Efforts to extinguish the wildfire continue.
