Operations commence at Dangote Refinery

Operations have begun at the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, representing a significant milestone in the development of Nigeria's maritime and shipping sectors.

The facility's capacity to produce up to 25 million litres of petrol daily, with projections to increase to 30 million litres by October 2024, signifies a substantial transition towards domestic refining capabilities.

This will lead to:
- Reduction in CPP importation to Nigeria;
- Increase in crude landing and discharging at Dangote facility;
- Increased cabotage activities within Nigeria territorial waters, with loading of crude oil from the Delta region, offshore facilities in Nigeria and discharging at Dangote;
- Opportunities for the export of refined products.
