Port Philip sea pilots have announced a new tariff to come into effect from 1 July. While the rate has increased, the tariff has been simplified.
Under the new charges there will be a large increase for vessels which go direct from sea to berth, as follows:
- 25000 GRT: increase 27%
- 35000 GRT: increase 25%
- 45000 GRT: increase 24%
- 55000 GRT: increase 23%
However, for vessels which berth via the anchorage there is a large reduction
- 25000 GRT: decrease 39%
- 35000 GRT: decrease 39%
- 45000 GRT: decrease 39%
- 55000 GRT: decrease 38%
