Tug operator Svitzer Australia has received notice of multiple further protected industrial action to take place from Thursday 17 November, bringing the total to more than 2,000 hours of stoppages since late October.
The new actions are:
Western Australia (Fremantle, Albany, Kwinana, Geraldton):
- 12 hours of work stoppages(7am-7pm) at Fremantle and Albany
- 24-hour work stoppage at Kwinana from 8am on 17 November
- A ban on overtime including recalls from leave at Fremantle from 7pm on 17 November until 11.59pm on 20 November
- A ban on overtime including recalls from leave at Kwinana from 8pm on 17 November until 1.00am on 21 November
- 4-hour stoppage of work starting at 12pm in Geraldton on 17 November
New South Wales (Newcastle, Sydney):
- 24-hour work stoppage at the Port of Newcastle from 00:01 on 17 November
The following are effectively 48-hour bans as they follow on from bans currently in place for 16 November until 00:01 17 November:
- A day where fixed term employees outside of rostered duty are unavailable for duty in Sydney from 00:01 on 17 November
- 24-hour ban on the performance of work on certain shipping line vessels in Sydney from 00:01 on 17 November
South Australia (Adelaide/Port Pirie):
- 4-hour work stoppage from 00:01am until 4am on 17 November
The above is in addition to extensive work stoppages into the coming week.
Customers should plan for significant disruption to services, as union action continues to escalate.
