Marine soil investigation for proposed development Phase 2

Until 31 October, marine soil investigations works are being conducted off Tanjong Pagar and Keppel Container Terminal.

According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Port Marine Notice No.62 of 2024, the works are being carried out 24 hours daily - including Sundays and Public Holidays - within the working area bounded by the following co-ordinates (WGS 84 Datum):

SECTOR D (9 to 20 July)

3) 01°16.030'N / 103°51.297'E
4) 01°15.879'N / 103°51.465'E
5) 01°15.567'N / 103°51.234'E
6) 01°15.687'N / 103°51.127'E

SECTOR E (21 July to 10 August)
1) 01°15.648'N / 103°51.161'E
2) 01°15.562'N / 103°51.069'E
3) 01°15.757'N / 103°50.894'E
4) 01°15.613'N / 103°50.761'E
5) 01°16.004'N / 103°50.350'E
6) 01°15.990'N / 103°49.940'E
7) 01°15.728'N / 103°49.487'E
8) 01°15.729'N / 103°49.445'E

The soil investigation work is being carried out by spud/jack-up barges assisted by tug boats. The safety zone is a circular area of 25m radius centered at the jack-up barges.

Safety boats will be in attendance to warn and direct craft in the vicinity to keep clear of working area.

Craft involved in the works exhibit the appropriate local and international day and night signals.

When in the vicinity of the working area, mariners are reminded to:
a) Keep well clear and not to enter the working area;
b) Maintain a proper lookout;
c) Proceed at a safe speed and navigate with caution;
d) Maintain a listening watch on VHF Channel 05 (Keppel Control); and
e) Communicate with Keppel Control on VHF Channel 05 for assistance, if required.
