The ongoing hearing of Australia’s Fair Work Commission about industrial action by union members employed by Svitzer Australia has advised that the planned lockout will not proceed.
The hearing continues and the Commission will give further consideration as to whether to suspend or terminate the protected industrial action. An order is expected to be issued tomorrow (Friday 18 November).
Based on the above, the lockout will not go ahead, and customers can return to planned shipping movements and recommence port operations.
