Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority has issued a warning of heavy thunderstorms associated with active downdraft, fresh winds and hail today (2 May) over the governorates of Al Buraimi, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah and Al Dhahira, Al Dakhylia, North Al Sharqiya, Myscar and Dhofar with precipitation ranging from 20 to 80mm which may be associated with flash floods.
There may also be isolated thunderstorms over the governorates of Musandam, South Aloo Sharqiya and Al-Wusta.
All precautions should be taken during the thunderstorms, including avoiding crossing wadis/low laying areas and not sailing.
