Vessel traffic in the Bosphorus Strait was suspended in both directions from 08:14 hours local time after a tanker vessel reported engine failure whilst transiting southwards, at the northern entrance of the Bosphorus.
The vessel has diverted to Istanbul northern anchorage area.
Traffic is due to resume for northbound vessels at 11:20 hours local time.
