Cyclone Asani is expected to make landfall near Machilipatnam, then move north-northeastwards along Narsapur, Yanam, Kakinada, Tuni and Visakhapatnam coasts until this evening (11 May) before eventually re-emerging into west-central Bay of Bengal by later tonight.
Asani remains a Cyclonic Storm with a maximum sustained surface wind speed of 70-80 kmph, gusting to 90 kmph.
Once back in the sea, it will continue to weaken — de-intensifying into a deep depression on Wednesday night and then into a depression by the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Isolated places in Odisha and West Bengal are likely to receive heavy rainfall. Owing to the impact of Cyclone Asani's landfall, the IMD has issued a red warning over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, due to the strong likelihood of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and strong surface winds.

KRISHNAPATNAM
Port shifted all working vessels to outer anchorage from 2000 hours on 10 May. Due to improvement in the weather conditions, port has started inward movements and bringing shifted vessels alongside one by one; inward movements resumed by 0815 hours today.
Great Danger Signal replaced with DS No. V. Moderate rainfall for last 12 hours.
KAKINADA
Vessel movements and cargo operations remain suspended. Weather continues to be cyclonic with heavy wind and rains. Flag No.07 hoisted from this morning.
HALDIA
No impact of cyclone at Haldia. Port operations and vessel movements normal.
PARADIP/GOPALPUR & DHAMRA
No impact of cyclone. Port operations and vessel movements normal. Weather is cloudy and raining intermittently.
